Sold items repopulating on Variation listing
Has there been any reports of sold items reappearing for sale on a variation listing? Also had a variation listing sell out that did not remove itself, but ALL the items sold appeared grayed out in the drop down and could not be purchased. Went to revise the listing and the sold out items showed still in inventory. Had to end listing to remove. HELP PLEASE

Mentor3 weeks ago · Edited@tag_poppin_deals Do you have the out of stock option turned on? https://www.ebay.com/uas/selling-pref
Complete Zero Stock: If every single variation in the listing reaches a quantity of zero, the entire multi-variation listing will be hidden from search results (if the out-of-stock preference is on) or end completely (if it is turned off)
These means that the listing would be hidden from search but you would still still see it as active.
I am going to tag a fellow Mentor that uses Variation listings... @eastlaneave can you help with this please?
I believe that if that if you end and relist as sell similar that the quantities are set back to the starting count. I don't know if that is your problem.

OP3 weeks agoThanks, yes I was aware that ending and relisting resets to original quantities but got caught off guard that the quantity was resetting on revisions (adding new items) to the listing. I've been using this method for a number of years and just now experiencing this. What's worse I was ready to submit my findings and solid examples to eBay and from research found out that this problem is at least 2yo. It doesn't seem to be a priority to them. Have a workaround in place and verifying inventories on ALL of my variation listings.

Mentor3 weeks ago@tag_poppin_deals That's frustrating! I only have basic knowledge of variations since I don't use them.
My fellow Mentor that I tagged does have a lot of experience and can tell you if this is how it should work or if you have a tech issue.

I have variation listings that I use daily and are 5+ years old.
I add quantity to them regularly; I occasionally add different variation options.
I haven't had the quantities reset. (that doesn't mean you aren't, just it's not a universal problem).
I revise my quantities right on seller hub without opening the listing.
Go here https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
- Scroll down to your item
- Click [x Variations] under the Title, which will take you to the Variations page
- Click the "pencil" in the Column under SKU, "Available Quantity" and/or Price.
You can update your variation SKU, quantity, and price right there, without opening your listing.
Do you have Out of Stock set?
If you don't have Out of Stock set, I can see one potential problem with revising the whole listing.
When you add a new variation the qty cannot be Zero. It's possible (I can't test this) that when you revise without out of stock, it requires qty 1 (>0) for each variation. Maybe?
Let me know
1) If you have Out of Stock set
2) are you normally revising the whole listing or just adjusting quantities using the steps I provided above.
3) Where else have you seen this issue reported? I've not seen and want to read.

OP3 weeks agoLOVE the suggestion on updating, it's ALWAYS good to learn something new. Excited to try this as it looks like a time saver and potentially avoid the previous problems.
OoS not set as I prefer the listing to drop after items are sold out.
Excited to try this, and will do so today. I'm thinking I will still need to revise the listing to add new items.(also being more aware)
And yes I usually delete zero line items when adding new items.
The issue I was referring to was repopulation on using sell similar item, have not seen anything on problems with revising.(maybe operator error on my part)
And LASTLY it's so refreshing to talk with someone that UNDERSTANDS how things work on the platform. THANKS SO MUCH.
