How can an item be marked as sold if the buyer has not paid?
it’s been a few days now the driver has not sent payment, and my item is not listed for other buyers to purchase. Is this normal?

Your buyer has 4 days to pay. On day 5 you can cancel as unpaid. Be sure to block buyers with multiple unpaid items here - https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
To avoid unpaid items, sell your items at a fixed price, with immediate payment required. If you are going to consider best offers, make sure the box to require payment info at offer is checked on the buyer management page above.
