SOLD item stuck at Post Office Nobody will Help
I am soooo frustrated with Ebay and lack of customer service. I sold an item and shipped through Ebay and the package has been stuck at Post Office for two weeks saying postage due. Apparently, UPS has not paid their portion. It has been impossible to get any help. I have spent 3 hours trying to get resolution on this and the buyer is angry. PLEASE HELP ME ! I just need to resolve this.

Is the Tracking number on the sold item with USPS or UPS? If UPS then from what I understand their tracking stops when they hand off to USPS.

The Post Office would probably release the package to the buyer, the addressee,
as soon as that buyer pays the postage due.
Therefore, it seems to me that if you -- the seller -- go back into that transaction and process a refund to your buyer, in the amount of the postage due, your buyer will be able to use that money to pay the postage due, to the Post Office.
If I were the seller and the postage due is, say $4.75, I would probably round it up and give my buyer at least $5.00. At least.
That may help your buyer recover from his/her anger.
Just so you know, eBay buyers may refuse delivery when postage is due AND get a full refund of their purchase price. The buyer would have to file an Item Not Received (INR) claim through eBay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG).

OP1 week agoThe postage has been paid and shipped through Ebay. Apparently, this is a shared postage between BOTH UPS and the Post office where they apparently share the delivery and postage. The Post office and UPS have their own tracking #. The problem is UPS is not paying the Post Office their share of the postage. This was suppose to happen automatically when the scan the package. But obviously that has not happened. and I have been unable to actually speak to an agent at EBay or Post Office regarding it. It is all AI.

EBAY can't do anything about either of those organizations.
What do you want?
Do you want UPS to do what it "should", what should have happened automatically, for UPS to have paid the postage due to the USPS (Post Office) when the item was dropped off at the Post Office?
And you're frustrated that you can't reach a person at either UPS or USPS or both to straighten this out and get the "right" party to pay the other party.
Yes, in an ideal world, all that stuff s-h-o-u-l-d probably have happened.
But it apparently it did not happen.
Again: you cannot do anything now about what UPS should have done.
OR do you want your buyer's purchase to be delivered to him/her?
If that is what you want, I reiterate:
In order for the item to be delivered to your buyer --
-- for your buyer not to be angry --
-- for you to "resolve this" --
-- for eBay not to place a defect on your selling record --
My suggestion still stands.
YOU may have to process a refund to your buyer so that he/she can go to the post office and pay that postage due.

OP1 week agoThe seller called me today and says that particular post office is 30 miles and is a major distribution center. He said he doubts he can even get to the facility meaning they have it fenced off with card readers etc... The reason I think Ebay should get involved is because I purchased the label through ebay and they processed all of that. I'm sure they would have better luck than I would with contacting someone. I would think Ebay would have a point of contract. This is a $300 vintage car part.

Mentor1 week agoUsually if a package is held due to postage due it means that the person who shipped it (the Ebay seller) did not use the correct amount of postage to ship the item.
What does UPS have to do with a package held at the post office?
If the buyer does not pick up the package and pay the postage, it will be returned to you. At that point you would have to refund your buyer in full.

What is the item and what service did you use to ship it? You mentioned that UPS did not pay their portion of the shipping. How is UPS involved?
