Sold an item which should ship in two days, but I'm out of town and can't contact the buyer.
Anyone have experience with selling shoes that require authentication - meaning it ships to Ebay's service in two days. But I'm out of town and can't contact the buyer to alert them I won't be able to ship for a week. What can I do?

When a seller is going to be away, he needs to set up Time Away. Learn how here and do this immediately so you don't sell anything else while you're away:

Contact your buyer right away to explain the situation and ask if he still wants you to ship the item in a week. If he does, then do that. If he doesn't, then you need to cancel the transaction using the reason that the item is out of stock/damaged (find the option in the dropdown next to the transaction in your Orders list).
You're going to earn a defect on this sale one way or another (either for shipping late or for cancelling), so be careful not to earn another one so that your seller status isn't downgraded.
