Sold an item after payment made eBay raised shipping to over 4 times the original amount

This keeps happening. When I listed an item first class mail with tracking is available. After the sale only option is ground advantage. Price goes from $.99 to $4.14. Tried to get a call from eBay. Simply doesnâ€™t happen. Thought Iâ€™d write here before cancelling the sale. Thanks

This item was listed for $29.99 . The ebay Standard Envelope has a limit of $20 , so Ground Advantage would be the correct shipping method. You can ship using first class envelope, using stamps, but there will be no tracking, so if the buyer files an Item Not Received case, you will end up refunding item price + shipping.

Sounds like you listed with the eBay Standard Envelope for shipping but the listing was not in the correct category to show that shipping method when using the shipping center to make your label. Normal First Class mail cannot have any tracking information. The Standard Envelope shipping method is not available through the retail window at the post office.

Double check your available shipping methods in the shipping center. You may have to click on "More Options" to see if the method is available.
