Snake-oil guitars
This question may be a little out of scope but maybe someone can enlighten me anyway. I've noticed a proliferation of what appears to be cheaply made knock-offs of upper echelon Gibson guitars listed for sale. They look like the real thing and are all in and around that $200 to $400 price point... so I understand why they would sell. Obviously you get what you pay for (the quality is anyone’s guess). But somehow it doesn't seem ethical or legitimate? How is it that these ‘sellers’ can get away with hocking gear that blatantly appears to be Gibson branded/trademarked yet clearly is not manufactured by Gibson USA?
