Site-wide President20 coupon reduce my income as a seller?
Hello. I am having trouble getting positive confirmation. When Ebay promotes a site-wide coupon to buyers - min order, maximum benefit, does this discount affect the income of the seller?
Ex: 10,000 BIN price in jewelry. Buyer uses the 20%, $500 max coupon. Does the seller net 10,000 - the 9% category fee? Or does the seller net $9500 - 9%?

Mentor2 years ago@powell.andy The sellers income is never reduced by eBay promotions.
The only time the sellers income is reduced is if the SELLER has a store and offers a discount on their items.

Also, do you know that this applies to all sellers in a qualifying category with BIN pricing? The coupon says "participating sellers", but I think this is just standard wording. That you know, why would sellers need to opt-in to participate when Ebay is making the discount?

Mentor2 years ago@powell.andy I have past personal experience with eBay site TRULY site wide coupons and I did not lose money on the sales. They really haven't done one of those in years.
The coupons eBay does now are select categories and the sellers are chosen by certain criteria that eBay uses, I don't have access to this formula other than that they need to be higher volume sellers.

OP2 years agoInteresting. And disappointing if that is the case.
Wonder how a buyer could tell if a seller is included, aside from buying and finding out the coupon doesn't apply?

Mentor2 years ago@powell.andy The buyer starts on the main banner page and clicks on get the coupon AND clicks see details OR browses the list of items that comes up when they click on the banner. It's not really that hard to figure out which items are included since they all show on that page.

OP2 years agoI see. I was reading the coupon rules and it listed excluded categories and auction/offer deals. Assuming meant everything else included.
Apparently not. I see now that included items are identified.
