Since today the webpage is set to english with prices in US-$ ... for a German in Europe...
Summary: alp-55 expressed frustration over eBay displaying in English with US dollar prices, despite living in Germany and having a German account. mudshark61369 suggested the issue might be due to mistakenly accessing the US site instead of the German one and provided a link to eBay Germany. alp-55 acknowledged the advice and resolved the issue by reopening the correct tab, humorously comparing it to the classic troubleshooting step of restarting.
Hi folks,
how I wish this was an act on Saturday Night Life...
As the Automatied Ignorance chatbot isn't able to solve this (so much for AI conquering the world), I'll write it here:
After logging in today ebay was set to English with prices in US-$. That would of course be fine if I was a native speaker living in the US with an account registered to an address located somewhere in the US or if I was representating some corporation with a foreign currency account.
Actually I'm not. I'm a German living in Germany with an account connected to an address in Germany. How do I configure my account so that ebay is once more using German with prices in €?
Best regards.

Mentor2 weeks ago@alp-55 ,
You are currently logged into ebay's U.S. based site ebay.com which is why you are seeing listings in English with U.S.$ prices. In order to get back to your home site click the link below.
www.ebay.de
You may have been misdirected to this site, by clicking on a U.S. based seller's listing who ships to Germany and then looked at their other items for sale, but did not go back to the German site before logging out.

OP2 weeks agoHi @mudshark61369 ,
strange... I'm having that tab on my webbrowser that I've been using for weeks which I used to log into ebay.de.
Never the less, thanks for the hint. I manually opened another tab and things are fine by now... Damn, I should have thought about that one myself. (Reminds me of the good old "Did you try shutting it down and restarting?"^^)
Best regards.
