Should they refund?
I made a purchase through marketplace in which they said they were using eBay for the purchase to go through or whatever I said OK they had paperwork they had people I had to call to check references and get ID numbers and all everything you have to do to buy a vehicle They claim they were with eBay motors why I sent my money to some eBay fake account. I guess in all they took $1700 for me they claim to be employees for eBay. They have paperwork numbers everything I’m not a computer way or I don’t usually deal with this type of stuff so I don’t know nothing about scams really so how was I supposed to know this was A scam they took $1700 and they claim to be eBay workers. I really do think eBay should refund me my money because these guys were pretending to be from the company. How am I supposed to get my money back?

·10 months agoTo me, when this happens, it’s sort of like a corporate version of identity theft. Would you suggest that a person who was a victim of identity theft be financially responsible? Then why should eBay when a third party is using their name/logo/etc. to rob people?

Mentor10 months agoSorry to say, your money is gone. It was an obvious SCAM! You willingly send your money to the scammer. Ebay can not help you since this did not take place on Ebay.
Ebay has nothing to do with Marketplace or any other website. You could have realized that it was a scam if you tried to look up the item on Ebay and realized there was no such listing.
