Shipping with FedEx at Dollar General
Today was the first time I’ve shipped orders using FedEx and dropping them off at Dollar General. The cashier scanned the orders and had me enter my phone number so I could get a receipt for them. She said they would be texted to me. I haven’t received a text yet. And the items are not showing up in eBay as having been scanned by the carrier. Do I need to do anything else at this point? Does it just take time to update?
I don’t want to mess up my top rated plus by not having these marked as shipped same day.

Mentor7 months ago@radiant.shepherd.rs. never leave a package without at least a drop off receipt.
Dropping a package off at a Dollar General or other postal service shop doesn't count as an official acceptance scan until the item is picked up and processed by Fed Ex
I would contact Dollar General and ask what time they expect FedEx.
You do risk having the item stolen before FedEx takes possession and will have no postal insurance.
I recommend only Dropping at actual Fed Ex locations.

OP7 months agoThank you for your reply. I do see that the orders are now updated in the eBay app as scanned by carrier.
Unfortunately I live in a rural area and there’s no FedEx location out here. I’m going to try having them pick up at my house, as the post office will not come to my house for pickups. I don’t have a car, so it’s a challenge getting my orders out. Otherwise I’d have to walk a few miles (through a state forest with hunters, bears, coyotes, etc) to get to the nearest post office.

I do hope that Fed Ex doesn't bill you for dimensional surcharges.
I do recommend avoiding them if it all possible

Now I’ll just have to decide between surcharge risks and the risk of being attacked by a wild animal or possibly shot by a hunter.ðŸ§

Mentor7 months ago@radiant.shepherd.rs. I may not have worded that well. The dimensional surcharges that FedEx charges happen often, it doesn't matter where you dropoff.
I just meant if needed to use a different shipping company. A good option if an item is too large or heavy is UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. They help with surcharge disputes and insurance claims if needed.
