Shipping weight not reflecting change after I change it

Has anyone experienced a listing that keeps reverting to recommended shipping weight (this weight is a lighter than the actual weight of the item without packaging)?

In order to avoid the recommended shipping weight, you need to use the Ebay shipping calculator.

Here's how to use calculated shipping when listing your items:

In the Shipping section of your listing, select Calculated: Cost varies by buyer location.
Next to Services, select Calculate Shipping.
In Package details in the Shipping Calculator, enter your package type, dimensions, and weight. (based on the prepackaged item).If you're selling an irregularly shaped item, estimate its dimensions by measuring a box you can fit it in.
In the Your details section, enter your ZIP code and any handling fees.
Select Calculate shipping.
Select the shipping services you want to offer, and drag them into the order you want buyers to see them.
Select Offer shipping services.
Complete your listing.
