Shipping USPS
Recently USPS has changed their internal shipping schedule. Truck used to deliver mail from regional sorting center, to local Post offices early in the morning for distribution. Outgoing mail was picked up after 3:00 (in my area) taken to sorting center to be sent on to next destination. The afternoon pick up has been eliminated, drop off for current day mail and pick up for prior days outgoing is now all at the same time, early in the morning. This change adds about 1 day + to delivery times as mail I ship today will not start to move until tomorrow.

Our local P.O. has the first bulk truck leave around 1 PM. It makes stops at several other P.O.s prior to getting to ours. We have no self scanning kiosk so I stand in line and have the Postal Clerk scan my packages in and then I leave with a receipt. That protects me against a Late shipping defect.
For your situation you need to stand in line and get the Acceptance scan. Delivery from there is subjective in my experience. Some packages arrive a head of the estimated delivery and sometimes a day or two later but that is rare and thus far my customers don't file claims that they did not receive their package a day or two after the estimated delivery.

Mentor1 year agoI realize that not everyone can stand in line at the post office.
Best to change your handling time to assure that you get the scan if you are unable to stand in line or use a scanner in the lobby. I realize that not everyone has every option.
Choose the best for you.
Frankly, the last thing I would do is stand in line at the Post Office which is 15 miles round trip from my house.

Mentor1 year agoeBay does not care about anything the Post Office is doing. When challenged, they will tell us that we choose the carrier so we get the consequences.
I changed all my handling time to two or three days. (and they whine about this telling me that I will improve sales if I change it to 1 day) but I had to do it because they also nag you if you don't ship "on time"
So your choices are to petition the Post Office to change, or change how and what you are doing.
Change carriers, change your handling time or go to the Post Office and have them personally scan in each package.
My Post office has a machine in the lobby that allows me to scan myself.
Most of the time I have carrier pick up and my very nice, competent carrier scans each package as picked up. That helps but the substitutes will sometimes miss a pick up, so there is that. (again, the extra handling time saves me a bit)
Good luck to whatever you decide to do. We are on a wild ride with the Post Office and I don't expect it to get better anytime soon.
