Shipping To A Different Address

Question

I sold an item. The buyer sent me a message and wants me to ship to Delaware. He said he is going on a trip. He is in San Francisco and the address he sent me has a different name.

Iâ€™ve never had a request to ship to a different name and address.

eBay requires sellers to ship to the address on the buyer's payment in order to their retain seller protection.

However to accommodate your buyer, you can cancel the transaction, relist, and ask the buyer to repurchase the item and add the correct ship-to address at checkout.

Before you do that though, verify that the user ID of the person making the request matches your buyer's user ID. If it doesn't, this is a scammer trying to get you to redirect the package to him. In that case, don't respond to the message - just ignore it.
