shipping return
I bought an item that said it was coming from New York. I am starting a return because the item wasnt as described it was way smaller than stated. i start the process only to be given an address in Australia to return it to. Now we are talking custom fees and everything which i will lose money on. Is it fair to try to make a person return an item to a different place than they ordered it?

This is not allowed. The seller must pay the return shipping on an item not as described. The seller must provide a US address for a return of an item where you are paying the return shipping, if it was listed as located in the US.
Did you open a return request? If so, go to your return and click ask us to step in.
If you have not opened a return, do that first -
Go to your purchase history - select 'return this item' , select 'does not match description' and follow the prompts. You can enter defective item received in the comments.
The seller has 3 business days to provide a return shipping label, or a refund. If he doesn't, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
If he is in AU, he won't be able to provide a label, so you'll have to use the step in option - eBay will instruct the seller to send you the $ to pay for the return to your Paypal account.
