shipping regions
I am in Michigan and I am trying to buy an item from a seller in New York that states they ship to the United States, but when I try to checkout, ebay says:
"The seller doesn't currently ship to: MI, United States
You can update your shipping address or request shipping to your location."
I've been buying stuff from ebay for 20 years at my same address so I don't think its on my end.

Most likely, the seller hasn't set up shipping on the listing.You'll see that on the listing if that's the situation.
Unfortunately, eBay displays the message just for the buyer's state, making it look like the seller doesn't ship there when in fact, everyone gets that message (with their state name displayed). eBay should just stating that the seller hasn't set up shipping on the listing and to contact the seller through messaging.

OP6 months agoI have requested combined shipping (I want two of the items), but I don't think the seller understands the problem yet. Ebay says I have committed to buying them, but when I try to pay, they won't let me.

Mentor6 months ago@bvandragt This sounds like an error on the sellers listing. I suspect that the seller doesn't have a valid shipping method. This happens if the seller typos the dimensions or weight and the shipping service selected can not handle the shipment.
If you share the item number or link to the listing I can take a look.

Mentor6 months agoOur suspicions are correct. The seller needs to revise the shipping section on their listing. You can send the seller a message using contact seller and let them know.

OP6 months agoThanks everybody. I have already contacted the seller and they replied that they would refund any extra shipping, but I am unable to pay anything right now. I just need the seller to understand what's wrong and you have confirmed that it is their listing, not my address that is the problem.

So sorry you are having to jump through hoops on this!
Just inform the seller that he has to set up shipping on the listing before eBay will allow you to pay for the item. If he needs more help understanding what to do, advise him to start a thread on this Ask a Mentor board to get help with fixing the problem.

OP6 months agoThe seller has sold 5200 items on ebay, so they are not new to this. I just have to get them to understand that there is a problem. I'm just waiting for a reply now.
