Shipping Refused

How would you handle this situation? We shipped a package (through eBay) to the address on file with eBay. The package was returned and the label says "Receiver did not want. Delivery refused." Now the buyer claims "I also have another address you can send it to. Because our box is in a building next to another one with almost the same address and sometimes the mailing company sends it to the wrong building." The buyer wants me to resend the item. Why should I have to pay to re-ship the item? This was clearly their fault, but I don't want to risk bad feedback. Any advice?

I'd add the buyer to your BBL.
For a refused delivery, the buyer loses protection and you aren't obligated to issue a refund at all.
However many of us think it's unethical to keep all the money plus have the item back so my suggestion would be to issue a refund to the buyer for the price of the item and any non-credited fees. Deduct original shipping since you already paid for that to ship it to him.

Mentor4 months agoThe buyer needs to request that you cancel their order, refund price of item only. That way you can relist the item so the buyer can repurchase the item using the correct shipping address.
