Shipping refunds
Just started selling again after 20+years. My question is about shipping. The buyer specified priority mail, and that all went fine. He paid like $6 more than the actual shipping cost. It seems like good policy to refund the difference, and I assumed EBay might do it automatically one a label is printed, but it doesn't look like it. What is the best course of action here?
Thanks

Mentor2 years agoBuyers pay the retail price for shipping, but sellers are charged the commercial price, so we get a discount for printing our shipping labels online. Sellers can keep the difference and consider it a handling fee to cover cost of labels, ink, boxes, polymailers, bubble envelopes, etc. Sellers are also charged FVF on the shipping price the buyer pays. Sellers can decide to reduce the shipping price by giving the buyer that discount. If you decide to do that, go to your Communication preferences > Shipping preferences:
