Shipping refunded-charged me!
Hello,
A buyer wanted to combine an order after they paid to save on shipping. I did so and refunded the shipping on the 2nd item. Why am I being charged?

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @bre-9522 What you’re seeing is normal. When you refunded the shipping on the second item, eBay had to take that refund from your Available/Processing funds. If there wasn’t enough there, it can come from your payment method on file.
So it isn’t an additional shipping charge - it’s the shipping refund you sent back to the buyer.
You won’t be credited the full shipping refund back once the buyer’s payment clears, although eBay may credit back a proportional amount of eligible selling fees.
If you purchased a separate label for the second order and aren’t using it, make sure you void that label. Also make sure the tracking number is attached to both orders if they are shipping together.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou front the refund, but will be credited it back after the buyer's funds clear.
Note if you purchased a second shipping label, you need to cancel the unused label. Also if you did not combine the shipping through the ship manager you need to manually add the tracking number to the second item.

Mentor2 weeks agoWhen the buyer paid, ebay sends you the item price + shipping + sales tax. If you refund some of that shipping, ebay has to take it from somewhere since it has already been earmarked to be sent to you, so you are charged for that refund.
