Shipping Rates for Seller
When listing an item for sale with free UPS shipping, I see a range of potential rates from about $13 to over $170. I think I have limited shipping to continental US only. When I use the "calculate shipping rates" feature, "eBay rates" range up to $23-24 for Los Angeles (I'm in Atlanta). I don't want to get burned with an unforeseen shipping charge of $50 to $170, but I don't know how to prevent it if I can't tell where its coming from. Is there a way to tell how this range is calculated? Especially where the high end of the range is coming from.....? Thanks for any feedback.

Mentor3 years agoI would also exclude US protectorates. The highest prices you are seeing are probably for PR, Guam, etc.
