Shipping Question Multiple Purchased items same Buyer
I have had multiple buyers ask me questions about if I can put different items that I am selling into one shipment to them.
I am selling multiple manga DVDs and graphic novels. Some of the Customers are interested in more than one object, but asked to have it sent in one package.
If they buy two books and They do not want to pay shipping for two items to the same location.
First question do they have to buy shipping for both and then I refund the difference once I join both items after the customer has purchased it?
is there a way to set this up before the sale once the item has already been Listed?
for future listings, how do I set up if there is a way for people to buy multiple items and pay shipping in one box?
Is this something you all would recommend or it’s safer and more secure to have them shipped individually?
Thank you

For eBay International Shipping, items must ship separately.
For everything else, ship it together
Your questions:
First question do they have to buy shipping for both and then I refund the difference once I join both items after the customer has purchased it?
You can combine multiple items into one package, and you do not need to buy a label for each.
- If the buyer checks out 7 items with one payment, eBay will have the sales already combined.
- If the buyer pays for more than 1 item separately, you can either
a) print one label with the combined weight and dimensions for both items and then add your tracking number manually to the others item as shown below
or
b) (better) combine the orders before selecting a label using the "bulk shipping" tool on the browser.
Put a checkmark to the left of your items on this page
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT
Select "Shipping" above
On the next screen it will ask if you want to 'combine' the orders. Check that box.
Enter the weight and dimensions for the package and print your label.

Adding a tracking number to additional sales
- Go to the Sold section of My eBay. https://www.ebay.com/mys/sold
- From More actions, select Add tracking number.
- Add, edit or delete the tracking number and the carrier.
- Select Submit.

for future listings, how do I set up if there is a way for people to buy multiple items and pay shipping in one box?
Combined Shipping for future sales
It's best to use a computer or the browser view to do this.
Change your global settings here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf to allow combined payments and shipping
Combined payments "edit"
- Allow buyers to send one combined payment for all items purchased
- Time period to combine payments days
Allow combined payments and shipping
This will allow the buyer to check out and pay for multiple items at once.
Then,
You will want to set up Shipping Rules and apply those Rules to your listings. You can have:
- Flat rules: For example add $1.00 for each additional item
- Calculated rules: For example - add up all the weights (If you have large items, the SIZE will not adjust for oversize, so I don't recommend calculated rules except for small items)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is how to set up your combined shipping rules:
First, change your global settings here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf to allow combined payments and shipping
1) Combined payments "edit"
- Allow buyers to send one combined payment for all items purchased
- Time period to combine payments <your choice> days
Allow combined payments and shipping
THEN set up the Shipping Rules:
2a) Calculated shipping rule "edit"
Select rules for combining weights for purchases with calculated shipping
- Combine all weights
And/or
2) Flat shipping rule "edit"
Select rules for flat shipping costs on combined purchases
- Add x.00 per each additional
(You can have several of these rules.)
Next, you need to ADD the combined shipping rule to each listing you want it to apply to. (in your listing or by bulk edit)
~~
Examples:
This method will allow buyers to buy two items from listing A and pay $10 +$1
AND
This method will allow buyers to buy one item from listing A and one item from listing B and pay $10 +$1
It will be $1 for each additional for multiples
Is this something you all would recommend or it’s safer and more secure to have them shipped individually?
I definitely recommend combined shipping!
