Shipping process
I placed and paid for 3 orders 3 days ago. How long is a seller allowed before they have to acknowledge the purchase and initiate the shipping process?

The seller is not obligated to "acknowledge" the purchase. You can find the order details in your Purchase History.
When you purchase an item on Ebay, you are provided with the estimated date of delivery so you can relax and wait for your item to arrive by/on that date.

Mentor1 year agoSellers can specify to ship same day, up to 40 days from date of payment. When you look at any listing, ebay displays an estimated delivery date based on the seller's handling time and the method of shipping. After payment, you can go to your Purchase history and see the estimated delivery date. When the delivery date is at least one day late, you can file an Item Not Received case with ebay. The seller will then have 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered, or refund your payment in full. If the seller does neither, on day 4, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

eBay allows sellers to select a handling time of 1 to 30 days. [‘Preorders’ have up to 40 days to ship.]
Buyers are advised to check the Estimated Delivery Date they are given … as THAT is what determines when an ‘item not received’ claim can be initiated.
