Mentor6 months ago@jacur_9496 Some sellers are under the mistaken impression that eBay only charges final value fees on the item price.
That is the way it used to work MANY years ago and sellers would list and item for .99 cents with $100 shipping to avoid fees. eBay tried to crackdown on that abuse but they finally just lowered the fees some and then started charging fees on the total amount.
Sellers pay fees on the item price + shipping+ sales tax that a buyer pays.
Just be sure to look at the TOTAL price on a listing to decide if it is a good deal or not. If the seller is selling cheap comics with a $100 shipping then they don't deserve your money.
Also sellers that ship comics Media Mail are violating the USPS rules and risk having the package opened and inspected. The box can be returned to the seller, delivered postage due, or USPS sometimes bills the sellers account through eBay.
