What is the best way to ship posters 27 x 39" . Buying tubes at Office Max is very expensive and what is the best shipper.. I have vintage posters from 70"s I want to put on sale, but don't know how to ship them cheaply Thanks

·3 years agoCylindrical mailing tubes are your best option for posters, but even tubes can be crushed in a slammed door or can be caught in a conveyor.
USPS has a $4 surcharge for items longer than 22".
If longer than 30", then add $15 if priority or ground, or $7 after Jan 22 if ground.

UPS and FedEx usually don't make economical sense unless the item weighs more than about 4 pounds. However, with the USPS length surcharge, you may find those shippers to be a better option. I think you may still encounter dimensional weight with a tube that long, as I think those dimensions will translate to a 2 pound shipment (or even a 3# shipment), even though it will weigh less than a pound.
Use eBay's shipping calculator (with accurate dimensions and weight) to decide which carrier to use, but be sure to offer a USPS option to serve PO boxes.

Also note that eBay will not show the new USPS rates until they go into effect on Jan 22, so there could be a period of time where your buyer pays one rate, and your label will cost you the new rate.
