Mentor2 years agoIf you are importing listings from shopify or something similar, those apps require policies.
Otherwise, I love business policies, but some people do not.
If you do not use them, you have to select all your options on each listing.
- If you opt out, your current listings will have the settings as they exist right now.
- If you opt out, it is all policies - Shipping, Payment, Return policies all.
- If you opt out, and decide you want to use them again, your policies will be gone and you will have to rebuild them. (You can do that most easily by 1. opt in 2. bulk edit and change nothing 3. go to policies are fix the titles)
If you need to continue to sync with an app, I suggest you find the settings that work to make your shipping settings work. Opting out of business policies may not solve it for you.

OP2 years agoI have done this repeatedly. Each day the listings are all under FREE SHIPPING again....

Mentor2 years agoThat sounds frustrating.
I can't see your account to see what is happening.
Do you have any items that you want "free shipping" for? Or should they all be calculated?
How many shipping "policies" do you have?
Policies should not change unless you "edit" the policy when you credit a new listing and select Save, instead of "Save As" which creates a new policy. (If you Edit the policy and click "save" that will change all listings using that policy. If you need something different, you should "save as" a new policy.)
You can also opt out of business policies and just use bulk edit to correct your shipping options.
You can Opt-Out here:
The Opt-Out is in tiny writing on upper right.

OP2 years agoI believe I found the culprit. We have an app that imports listings to ebay. The app was set to FLAT shipping which translated to ebay as FREE.

You should have 3 day calculated shipping set as your "default" policy here, if that is the most often used policy
https://www.bizpolicy.ebay.com/businesspolicy/manage?profileType=SHIPPING&totalPages=2
You can change the "default" policy by using the drop down box here
You can also easily review and reassign listings from "free" to the 3 day calculated if you have any that need to be changed.
