"SHIPPING" policies
Is anyone increasingly annoyed with eBay for allowing sellers to indicate an item as "shipped" when only a tracking number has been provided, and the item may actually not ship for days or even weeks?

Mentor3 years agoSellers have no control over what message eBay sends when a label is printed. Many sellers have indicated that they would much prefer if eBay changed the wording on that notice to state that a label had been printed rather than "shipping has been started" or whatever eBay's current chosen phrase happens to be.
If the seller does not obtain an acceptance scan from the shipping service by then end of the seller's stated handling time, the seller earns a late shipping defect from eBay, so there is absolutely no benefit to the seller printing the shipping label early and then sitting on it.
If the seller is not shipping on time, the day after the last estimated delivery date the buyer can file an "item not received" claim. If the seller cannot provide tracking that shows delivery in three business days, the buyer can ask eBay to step in and issue a refund.
