The final value fees for that transaction is 15% of the item and shipping & handling cost, + .30 cent processing fee. the sales tax is paid directly to the buyer's state. FYI the listing for the pump stated $14.95 for shipping. So you were charged ebay's 15% final value fees on $155.45 about $23.26 by my rough calculation. which ate up your shipping cost and then some.
It appears you way undercharged for shipping. According to the Mfr.'s specs that pump Mod.# 06115000, weighs 30lbs so there was no way you could ship it USPS Priority to my state for $16.94 or to the buyers state for $14.95 if it was closer, had you measured and weighed the boxed up pump, to get a calculated shipping cost.

Mentor2 years agoYour spa/pool pump sold for $140.50. The buyer should have paid the item price + shipping + sales tax. You received that amount minus the sales tax (it goes to the buyer's state revenue service) and minus the Final Value Fee. You then ship the item using whatever service you wish. If you use ebay shipping, the shipping cost is deducted from either your payout or Paypal, whichever service you selected.

OP2 years agoThe item sold for $140.50. The buyer paid that plus $14.95 shipping, plus $14.38 sales tax for a total of $169.83. I Iwas paid $132.55. (169.83 - 14.38 - 22.90 transaction fee).
So, I don’t get any of the shipping fee? I did not use eBay shipping because in the past the amount covered by eBay was insufficient when I went to USPS to ship and USPS would not let me pay the additional … so I had to cover the full cost of shipping. This seems like a rip-off.

When the buyer pays through Ebay for the item they purchased from you, they pay for the item plus your shipping charges. You pay to ship the item to the buyer which should equal the amount the buyer paid for the shipping charges.
