Shipping out of pocket costs
I’m sure this is a simple question, but I’m new to eBay. I understand that the buyer pays shipping costs in most cases. Do those monies end up being credited to me in the final payment? I’m trying to figure out if the shipping costs I incur get “reimbursed” to me somehow.

Here is how it works, the Buyer pays YOU through eBay to purchase the label. You use that money and buy a discounted label through eBay to affix to the package. There is nothing to reimburse you for, you have been paid by the Buyer to purchase the label.

OP1 week agoThank you mr_Lincoln for your prompt response. I tried searching for this information all over eBay site and asked the AI assistant in multiple different ways and never could get the answer to such a simple question. When I “asked the community “ I not only got your quick answer, but dozens of links to other people asking the same question.

OP1 week agoIn a similar vein, since eBay collects from me approximately 13% Ffv that includes shipping charges to the buyer, is the discount for purchasing a label from eBay similar to that 13%?

No, discounted labels are basically Seller being able to use Commercial shipping rates instead of Retail rates. You can see the % of discount when you actually purchase a label. The discount helps offset fees you owe eBay on the paid shipping by the Buyer.
