Shipping one order in multiple boxes

Question

I have an order that is a pitcher and wash basin. They were listed and sold together. They're both large and fragile so I need to package them in separate boxes. Is it okay to pay for shipping of the second box out of pocket and then notify the buyer of second tracking info but not charge them for the second boxes shipping costs? The amount of shipping they paid is the right amount to cover the first boxes shipping.

Yes, you can print up to 5 separate shipping labels through eBay so printing 2 for that order will be fine. If you a listing like that again add additional weight and dimensions to help cover the cost of additional boxes

Tracking is automatically uploaded to the sold item from each label you purchase.

NOW< having said all of that here is where you can run into issues. I see you are using eBay's DEFAULT return policy, Nor returns accepted. Well, you may as well learn now that policy is limited and returns can be easily forced on you to where YOU pay for a return shipping label ... so if that happens then you have to purchase a 2nd label and send it to the Buyer to affix to the 2nd package. And if the shipping cost for the two different boxes varies you need to hope the Buyer puts the correct label on the correct box.

eBay has NO provisions to easily handle a multiple box shipment on a single order.

When you go to print/buy the label, enter the weight and dimensions for the first box. After printing, click the 3 dots and select to Print Another Label. Enter the weight and dimensions for the second box. Print. This will attach the tracking number to the transaction. ebay allows up to 5 labels for one transaction.
