Shipping on it's way confirmation

Hello,

I need some help. Today, I sold my first product on eBay and dropped it off at USPS. However, the worker at the counter did not provide me with a receipt or scan the box. Is this normal and acceptable, or should I be concerned?

Currently, I cannot check the package's status on eBay because there is a message that says, "We’re experiencing a temporary delay in tracking updates." When I try to use the tracking number provided by eBay on the USPS tracking website, it doesn't return any information.
