Shipping Mix-Up - HELP!
I somehow managed to switch the shipping labels on 2 totally different orders. I thought all was fine as they showed up as delivered on March 7th. Then on the 12th one of the buyers messaged me to say she never received her baby sleepers she ordered, instead, she received a book. She states she has no problem waiting but still wants the baby items and will return the book. I have been trying to contact the only other buyer from the same time, who actually ordered the book and obviously did not get a book. They have yet to reply to my inquiries. Should I just explain and apologize to the buyer that I have heard from and refund her . I can't MAKE the book buyer respond . What do I do -never did something this stupid before - guess I was just living up to my name -kissnafubar🙃

It happens, the last time it happened to me the path of least resistance was to refund both Buyers in full and let them keep the items. One of those Buyers turned around the following week and purchased 4 items from me.
At the end of the day you can't have everything hinge on what one Buyer does AND if they both file returns that you have to pay for you will be oout two return shipping costs. If you can resell the items to help cut your loss great, otherwise it might be better to message them both that you will be refunding their original purchase in full.
If you sell long enough this kind of thing will happen, just focus on making it right for both Buyers ...

OP3 years agoThanks for reassuring me. That is what I figured I would end up doing and have no problem doing whatever I need to do to rectify my foul. I did explain to the buyer who messaged me what must have happened and let her know that I was trying to contact the book buyer who now has the baby sleepers. I let her know that I would refund her, but she stated she really wanted the sleepers. I told her I would try to get them back, and she was happy to wait. I will let her know that since the other buyer is not responding- all I can do is fully refund her ad apologize for loosing the item she wanted. She has been great about the mix-up so far.
Now for a stupid question (another one) - Since the book buyer has not contacted me about his item not getting to him and him receiving something totally different from what he ordered AND since he has not responded to my messaging - do I refund him without any contact between us?

Mentor3 years agoHi @kissnafubar Sorry for the delay, I did not realize you replied to my post. If it were me I would issue the refund with the supporting note about the situation. That way you can let this go and move on about your business.
