Shipping labels on the wrong packages
I accidentally put the wrong label on two different packages, sending sweaters to the wrong people.
Has anyone else done this before? Does it make more sense for me to just have it refunded or ask the buyers to send the packages to the right person?
can't get in touch with eBay about it.

Message each customer and ask them if they will send the sweaters back to you and that you will refund their out of pocket label cost off of their purchase and once you get the sweaters back, inspected you will then ship them to their rightful owners. This is the approach I took that worked and ultimately both customers received their correct item. the transactions were not a total loss but I certainly did not make my normal profit margin but in my mind I did the right thing.
If you try to save money bay having the customers ship to the other customer you are at risk and the transactions are out of your control.
You can decide to just refund in full and take the loss BUT if you do that make sure BOTH Sellers agree to it, otherwise you risk getting less than Positive Feedback.

OP8 months agoWere you able to partially refund them through eBay? I am worried about sending any personal info and getting my account flagged.

Yes, on the drop-down menu you can scroll down to the Send refund line and click that. it is a multi-page function, you enter an amount to be refunded, type a note, select a reason then issue the partial refund. You will get your eBay Fees credited off the refund amount you process. All done within eBay.
