Shipping Label Snafu
I sold an item. I printed the shipping label from eBay. The buyer emailed me and said his address had changed. I put the new address on the label. The USPS would not honor the label. I paid the USPS for a new label and discarded the old one. I should not be charged for the label I printed and buyer should be responsible for the sale price PLUS the cost of shipping. Is there anyone, like a live person actually at eBay to help resolve this issue? Thoughts?

This transaction can cause you more problems. Since you didn't ship to the address provided at checkout, the buyer can get the item at the new address yet still claim item wasn't received. Tracking will not show as delivered to the correct address/zip and they would win the case. You would have to refund. Hopefully you will have an honest buyer and they won't do that.
In the future, cancel the transaction (problem with buyer's address) and have them repurchase the item and provide the correct address. This is the only way to handle this situation.

You were required to ship to the shipping address that Ebay provided with the notification of payment, NOT an address sent to you in an email. You should have cancelled the transaction due to "problem with buyer's address", and relist so the buyer could re-purchase using the correct shipping address.
When the buyer paid for the item, that should have including your shipping charges.

OP1 year agoThank you. That would have been the best thing to do at the time. At this point, I want to know how this situation can be resolved. I believe I should receive the cost of the item AND reimbursement for the shipping charge I paid when I did not use the eBay shipping label. How do I effectuate that resolution?
