Shipping label snafu
Hello, new seller here. I paid and printed a shipping label as the seller since I offered free shipping. However, when I boxed the item I used a priority USPS box even though I only paid for 1st class shipping....so when I went to the post office they caught my error and I paid the extra to ship it priority. My problem is this changed the tracking number. I asked the EBAY chat agent what to do and they said edit my tracking number in the order details. I've done that, but because I purchased the label on ebay it won't let me change it...only add an additional tracking number. So now it has two tracking numbers with the first one being the one that seems "tied" to my account here and it doesn't show my item as shipped and I'm assuming it won't show as delivered here in my seller pages. What do I do about this mess?

Mentor3 years agoThis isn't a problem and you do not need to contact eBay. First you need to void the original label. https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng/labels-history/seller-hub Make sure you void the correct label. You will still see both tracking numbers but one will move and the other won't. You will get a credit for the original label in your payouts in a couple of weeks. It will show as shipping label on your payouts but will be a credit rather than a debit.
You just learned that you cannot use priority boxes for anything other than priority shipping. For first class, you need to use other boxes.
