Shipping Label Return Option Not an Option
Hello, I've been having a pretty horrid time trying to ship items to a buyer. We've both been in contact with ebay several times, each time told contradicting information and dishonest answers each time we've called or chatted. I seriously can't get through to anyone who can give me a correct answer.
I was instructed on the phone to buy two shipping labels for an order. I did that and confirmed before buying on the phone that this was the right way to do it. I had 10 boxes to ship, the agent told me to print two labels, then print out each label 5 times. Went to fedex and I'm naive, but they said that's not how that works.
Called ebay back and they said fedex would refund it. Went back to fedex and they said no that's on ebay.
Now when I go back to try and get a refund for the labels, there's no option to refund the labels, and because of the whole issue with them and the shipping, they have opened and closed a case on the order, making it so the buyer can't be refunded either.
Both buyer and I must have been in contact via chat and phone call over a dozen times each. Does anyone know what I can do at this point? Ended up shipping his items via another carrier by just working directly with the buyer. But we've both just lost tons of money on this.

I am sorry you got bad advice about printing the same label 5 times.
Each box must have a separate tracking number.
You can buy up to 5 labels per order on eBay, after that you need to buy labels from a 3rd party anyhow.

Here's how to cancel (or void) an unused shipping label you purchased on eBay:
- Go to Manage shipping labels: https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng/labels-history/my-ebay
- Find the item you'd like to cancel the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select CANCEL.
- Choose your reason for canceling the label.
- Select Cancel shipping label.
You have 28 days to cancel a label. The refund will come about 21 days after you cancel.

If you shipped the items, does the buyer still need a refund? Can you clarify that for me so I can provide advice?

OP8 months agoThanks for the response.
I can't cancel it because I get a message that "the label has already been used." It was not used, and when I was at Fedex, they didn't scan it because they saw the tracking number issue right away.
The buyer has tried to get a refund, but ebay said no. I worked with him and got him his items. But they closed the case and I can't even do anything about it now. No one that calls me knows what they're talking about/gives incorrect instructions. We're both out a lot of money.

That sounds frustrating.
Fedex decides if the label gets refunded. You apply through eBay but if it was declined, it was fedex that declined. Fedex would have scanned the first label with their scanner, and then scanned the 2nd label (duplicate) that's when the issue appeared and that is when the label was scanned.
I understand you are out the cost of 2 labels.
Is there other money?
What money is the buyer out?
I can get you correct information, but I need all the facts. Details will be very helpful.
