Shipping label mix-up -- how to ensure it gets refunded?
As part of a recent eBay sale, I provided USPS Ground as a sole shipping option on a "buyer pays" basis.
When I went to pack and ship the item, I discovered that the size of the cardboard box made the piece larger than I had expected. Mea culpa. The quote for shipping with USPS increased by about $100.
In an effort to reduce the buyer's costs, I requested to void the USPS label and purchased a UPS label for roughly the same price as the original estimate (again through eBay).
However, I have now been billed for 2 shipping labels and, a week later, have not heard anything back from USPS. Should I expect to be refunded for the unused USPS label or is the money effectively lost? If so, it's annoying to get penalized for doing the right thing for your buyers.

·3 years agoWith USPS, you have 5 days to void the shipping label.
Go to your shipping labels and click Void in the menu next to the label.
It'll take 3 to 4 weeks to receive the refund.

3-4 weeks. Wow. They should pay interest!
