My buyer paid for the shipping label per ebay's cost.

It was roughly $35

Now when I try to print the label it says over $80

I dont understand.

this is my first ebay sale ever.

Can anyone help me please.

i just asked the buyer if I can send FED EX FOR $43.

I AM downsizing and moving after 38 years.

Just trying to get rid of some useful items and get a little money for my old age.

This was my first sale!

I would buy the UPS shipping label on https://www.pirateship.com/rates 72.74 is the approx shipping price for those zips. If you have to dispute a surcharge dispute OR file an insurance claim they will help you.

Do NOT use Fed Ex, while the price looks less they WILL bill you much more later due to the package dimensions.

Be sure to ship in a box and not wrapped in something as that will make the shipping cost MUCH more and insurance probably wouldn't cover any damage.

The box has to be packaged well enough to be tossed at least 4 feet and have another heavy box land on top of it.

Keep in mind that just one inch larger in any direction will increase the shipping price due to dimesional weight surcharges.

@sdomerego I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you accidentally entered a FLAT rate of 37.95 for shipping and did not use buyer pays calculated shipping. The price does not change no matter what zip code I put on the listing to check it.

Per eBay policy you are not allowed to ask the buyer for more shipping than stated on the listing. You will have to consider this "eBay Tuition".

eBay can calculate the shipping charge but you must select Calculated Shipping when making the listing. eBay will then use the information you entered for weight and dimensions of the package ready to ship item to calculate the correct shipping to the buyer.

@sdomerego eBay will calculate shipping if you select buyer pays calculated shipping and enter the correct package weight and dimensions on to the listing.

I am however concerned that you might get hit with a dimensional surcharge that is billed later by UPS in addition to the large shipping loss you already have.

What are the package dimensions and weight?
