shipping label
I canceled a shipping label and Ebay said it is cancelled. Do I get an email for Ebay saying it is cancelled and the amount? It as 4 days since I canceled. Ebay said it will be a few days, and an email said to might take 15 days.
I the meantime, Ebay sent an email with prices. The buyer total fund due to the buyer which is $928.19. To me it is hard to understand. The only way that I get that amount for the buyer total fund, $750 item + $178.19 shipping = $928.19. Does that mean that shipping label money is credit from the buyer and my cancelled of the label and the money is OK, zero both ways?
Plus, I owe a transaction fee for $136.58 for Ebay. The deal is not done because a screwed shipping label. Why?

OP10 months agoI respectfully do not agree with you. Ebay does not, or anyone else, pay for the shipping label, yet. Ebay direct the payment of shipping charges, either the buyer or the seller. It is not charged UNLESS someone scaned the bar code, only then will the money be charged to the label. I talked to two different people in the USPS, USPS have no idea what Ebay's printing labels or not. That's why Ebay can return the monies charged after Ebay see it's not used when they canceled or not, i.e., the 21 days or less wait.
Going to my first email: "The buyer total fund due to the buyer which is $928.19. The only way that I get that amount for the buyer total fund, $750 item + $178.19 shipping = $928.19." Ebay returned the shipping charges to the buyer in their account which Ebay was holding. I was not charged and I am sure that Ebay is not paying it either. So, I guess the shipping label was cancel with the USPS and Ebay knows it or this would not happen. With not having a person to person to talk too, Ebay's mindset is you will figure it out. I'll be glad when this matter is put to bed.
Thanks you for your time.

Mentor10 months agoWhile you may not agree with the system I just want to clarify that when you pay for a shipping label on eBay the money goes to USPS right away.
It takes about 21 days for the shipping label refund because USPS has to MAKE SURE that the label is not used. If you bought a shipping label on USPS click and ship website instead of eBay it does take 28 days to receive a refund.
As to if USPS will ship an item when the shipping weight on the label is not correct..... USPS does have a system to bill a seller for underpaid shipping. It doesn't always happen and sometimes the item is delivered postage due to a very unhappy buyer.
So for now set aside the cost you paid for the shipping label in your calculations of the refund amount.

Mentor10 months agoHi @trw4024
If you purchased a label through eBay and then cancelled it you will be credited in 21 days or less.
I am in the same state so I see just over $ 65 to ship the Marantz Receiver so if shipping paid to you was over $ 178 then it must be shipping a long way, maybe coast to coast. You are also charged for Signature confirmation for sales at or over $ 750 plus adding additional insurance to cover from $ 100 to $ 750 item price. It gets pricey shipping larger heavy items a long way.
I don't quite understand the comment that "Ebay sent an email with prices."
If you sold the item and packed it up YOUR cost to ship it will be determined by package weight and size, period. If you made a mistake in setting up the original listing then you will have to eat the cost of the shipping error, that has nothing to do with the customer or eBay.

OP10 months agoEbay would't sent the money (70 lbs to CA @ $178.19) to the buyer IF the shipping label is not cancel, right?

-If you cancelled the original label you have to pay for and print another one. You do NOT want to risk an issue with the label for an expensive item like that. eBay has nothing to do with this, they are just the venue and you are using the venue. The Buyer pays YOU to ship the item, you use THAT money to buy the label.
