Shipping insurance
I sold a very expensive item it was packaged very well I watched the postman scan the item the scan showed up on the tracking but then disappeared all together I then had a family emergency, was out of the state for over a month and now eBay won't talk to me I can't get the post office to do the right thing I had to refund the buyer so now I'm out the money and the product even though there is shipping protection but I can't get anybody to talk to me. What can I do?

Insurance claims are filed on the USPS website
Always take items, especially expensive ones, to the post office and have it scanned in at the counter.

Mentor2 weeks agoOP says he saw the carrier scan the item and it showed up as accepted. I never heard of a tracking number just disappearing. Don't think a carrier can cancel it either.
OP are you saying the tracking number now shows waiting for pickup and not in transit?
Did you check this on the USPS website not just ebay?
Did you talk with your pickup carrier, as some have really good memories?
I also always get a counter receipt for expensive items.

OP2 weeks agoNo, I still have proof that they scanned it in and took possession of it it was just never scanned again. It never reached the buyer and has not come back to me. Ebay says there was protection on the package but I can't figure out how to get anyone to do anything.

Mentor2 weeks ago@andi-lew-finds If the tracking shows it was scanned then you need to file an insurance claim on USPS> https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
There is a deadline of 60 days from the mailing date to file the claim.
If the tracking is no longer showing AT ALL....which I have not heard of happening, then call USPS USPS Customer Care at 1-844-819-5187
