Shipping Fraud with media mail?
I am concerned about buyer fraud. I listed my item. It was paid for by a buyer who keeps messaging me about shipping it to a foreign country. Then the buyer paid for the item. Ebay gives me the shipping label which is to a US address (where the item is being sold from). I message the buyer to confirm the shipping address and the buyer says "I have no idea where that address is". The item is a heavy book and the buyer selected USPS Media Mail, but the buyer indicates he's in a foreign country. How can I determine if this is some sort of fraud?

First, make sure the person's ID that is messaging you matches the one on the sold item.
Some foreign Buyers use US based forwarding companies which allows them to buy in the US. You will be charged the International sales fee of 1.65% on those purchases but are only responsible to ship to the US address. The Buyer pays the forwarding company to ship to their country. Same on a return, you are only responsible for a return from the forwarding company's address.
The Buyer may not know the forwarding company's address. If you use a satellite look down program like Google earth you can check the US address and most likely it will be a warehouse type building, typical of forwarding companies.
If it is paid for ship to the address on file, do not ship to an address that is sent to you in eBay messaging, you will lose your Seller protection.
