Shipping Fiasco
I made a typographical mistake with a prepaid label and paid approximately 7x more than what I needed to for a shipping label, after I dropped it off at the post office, ultimately resulting in a $-6 total for the item. I immediately went back to the post office to have them "cancel" the item. They marked it as returned to sender and I walked out with it. I got on and made a new label for the appropriate amount, now resulting in a $-20 balance for the whole item.
You can't track the old number anymore since it appears that it was marked as "delivered" back to me in San Diego, instead of it's intended destination of Georgia. But I also cannot cancel it since it says it has already been delivered. I really would like my $82 in shipping back...
Do I need to take this up with USPS? I cannot find any way to email or talk to a human on this website.

You can certainly try going back to your Post Office and asking if they have an appeal process but I suspect this will be an expensive lesson.
If you had an accurate weight and package dimensions on the listing and used the Calculated setting you should have been able to print the label through eBay getting a discount and not having this issue. If your mistake was on the listing and you simply printed the label not noticing the price you were paying that too is a hard lesson to learn.
You have 28 days to cancel unused labels purchased through eBay on this page ... sadly, as you surmised that does not apply in this case: Track and manage your shipments
