Shipping fees
I recently sold an item marked buyer pays shipping- and they told the buyer $117.00 shipping fee
Now eBay is trying to charge me, the seller, $320.00. How can they charge me this when it clearly states in my listing buyer pays shipping?

Mentor1 week agoWhat the buyer pays for shipping depends on the information you entered into the shipping section of the listing. if the information is not correct then the buyer will not pay the correct amount. There is no way that transmission could ship for the amount indicated on the listing. That is a heavy item and it is long. FedEx has surcharges for heavy and long packages. The USPS will not make the actual delivery as it will exceed their weight limits. That item would have to go by FedEx alone or a freight carrier depending on the actual shipping weight.
Unfortunately you cannot ask the buyer to pay anymore for the item than what they were charged at the time of payment for the item. I hope that you did not take any eBay advise on the shipping charge since their recommendations are based on category averages and not the item itself.

OP1 week agoThe problem I am having is when I posted it the shipping estimate eat betwy$117.00 and $299.00
Which the total shipping cost according to eBay is $320.00 I don’t mind paying the difference for $299.00 to $320.00
I listed it correctly. The eBay estimate was wrong
Iand why was there not a definite estimate not on from $117.00 - $299.00

Think of eBay as a huge computer.
It can only compute the data that is input into it by the fingers of a human.
That estimated price -- the output -- is only as accurate as the input.
The info provided to you by "jacbarcollectibles" is correct.
Especially this: "FedEx has surcharges for heavy and long packages."
