shipping fees
I was charged twice for shipping an item, once for the label and again for using eBay's shipping label system. All this for a $10.00 item

The buyer pays you for shipping/handling and you use that money to buy the label.
You are only charged once unless you purchase two labels. To find out, see this link:

If you see two label purchases for the same transaction, you can cancel the label you didn't use within 28 days of purchase here:
It will take about 14-21 days for the refund to come through.
