Shipping Fees
I noticed on all my sells that I am paying for the shipping fees out of the items I sold.
Example: I sell an item for $20.00 and buyer pays shipping $4.00
My total return is only $16.00
Why is this?

·1 year agoThe buyer pays you whatever shipping cost is displayed on the listing.
eBay takes their fees out of the total transaction (item price + shipping + taxes), and then makes the balance available to you.
If you then purchase a shipping label via eBay, you have the option to use those pending funds to purchase that shipping label, so that comes out of the total you'll be paid as well.
A net payout of $16 for a $24 sale ($20 item plus $4 shipping, plus any applicable taxes) doesn't sound off to me, assuming you purchased the label via eBay.
