Length fee If the length of the package is greater than 22†up to 30â€, there will be a $4 fee for PME, PM, PSG, and FCPS. If the length of the package is greater than 30â€, there will be a $15 fee for PME and PM, and a $7 fee for PSG and FCPS.Jan 17, 2023

·2 years agoLeave the buyer out of this. You promised the item with no additional charge for shipping for a particular price, and you need to keep that promise. You pay whatever it costs you to ship consistent with the carrier and class of service you specified on the listing and chalk that up to "education."
The time for making sure the weight and dimensions (in the package you will use) you enter are correct AND that what you charge the buyer in price (even if you only get one bid and it sells for the Starting Price) plus the s/h is sufficient to cover what you need to make off the item (don't forget to factor in eBay fees on price plus s/h plus sales tax that a hypothetical buyer in a distant high-tax state) or what you are willing to lose on it (to get it out of the house or for whatever reason you are willing to take a loss).
Shipping golf clubs is not inexpensive and you really should be using calculated shipping for that as it is something that can vary greatly with distance.

·2 years agoHi @carokip-94 No, you cannot change the shipping method that you advertised on the listing. You have only 2 options:
You can cancel the order, but you'll receive a transaction defect and the buyer will still be able to leave you feedback.
You can ship the item using the shipping method you advertised, and accept the loss.
How to cancel:

Consequences for cancelling:

By the way, probably every seller has made this mistake when they started, so you're in good company!

Once you have been paid for an item, you cannot change the shipping cost or method. At this point you have 2 options,
1) Ship the item and eat the cost of shipping, and chalk it up as a learning experience.
2) Cancel the transaction, refund the buyer, and get a defect on your account.
Personally, I would go with the first option.
In the future, before offering free shipping, pre-pack your items without sealing them, then measure and weigh the package. Then use a shipping calculator to get the price for the furthest distance from your location that you will ship to. Once you have that price add it to the starting bid of an auction or the buy it now price. Do be aware that oversized packages will be charged DIM shipping cost. The shippers determine the weight for a package based on its measurements. You can get an explanation of how it works by looking up what is DIM shipping on a shipper's site.
Better yet, select one or more shipping methods pre-pack and weigh, then list the items with calculated shipping, so the buyers can see the cost for shipping to their location. If you want to add a bit to the shipping to cover materials, when you print out a shipping label select the option to not show the shipping cost on the label.
