Shipping Discount
My buyer was charged full shipping and I see I received a discount on shipping. The label printed the discount price but the invoice shows the regular shipping price. How do I return the extra fee to the buyer. Ive already been charged an ebay transaction fee on the sale.

Mentor10 months agoMost sellers will not show the shipping charge on the label. There is a setting when purchasing the label to prevent the charge from showing and causing problems with buyers. Many sellers use the shipping discount to offset some of the eBay fees they have to pay.

First, you can turn the feature OFF that shows the postage on the label. Also, eBay considers it "Shipping and Handling" NOT just the price of the label.
On that item use the drop down menu on the left and scroll down to "Send refund" and click that. The process is several pages, enter an amount, select the reason for the refund, type a message, issue the refund.
You will get two eBay messages on the refund which is normal
Keep one thing in mind, you paid eBay fees on the paid shipping from the Buyer which also include sales tax if from a state that charges sales tax. So simply subtracting what you paid from what they paid means you will lose money in paid fees on the amount the Buyer paid.
I recently started to share my eBay discount with Buyers and the 20% setting seems to work well with giving a discount but also covering eBay fees.
