Shipping delayed due to severe weather conditions

Question

I wasn't able to ship my package by the shipping due date due to severe weather and all post offices being closed. It snowed in Florida and everywhere was closed. We were in a state of emergency. If post offices are open today, I can ship today. I have messaged the seller to let er know what was going on. How do I message eBay to let them know? I don't want to ship it a day late and then eBay returns the buyer her money because they didn't know anything. Help...
