Shipping Date Bad Weather delay hoped for
The weather here is frigid and going to stay so until Jan 27.
I saw an option to ship by Tuesday and took it.
The label is marked with that date.
But eBay says "Ship by Monday."
I am a Top Seller.
Will I get "dinged" if I ship it Tuesday?
Wanted to spare our mail carrier.
Thanks.

Mentor8 months agoHi: it sounds like you have a one day handling time so that's what the eBay system will show you as eBay hasn't announced protection yet on the upcoming storm. Watch the eBay announcements board.
eBay Seller Protections During Bad Weather
When severe weather (snowstorms, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, etc.) disrupts normal shipping and delivery, eBay has protections in place to help sellers avoid unfair penalties.
What eBay Understands
eBay recognizes that extreme weather can:
Delay carrier pickups and deliveries
Close post offices and shipping hubs
Make it unsafe for sellers to ship on time
Your safety always comes first.
How eBay Helps Sellers
1. Late shipment protection
If a major weather event affects your area, late shipments caused by carrier delays generally won’t count against your seller performance.
2. Defects may be removed
Transaction defects related to weather-caused delays (including late delivery or tracking issues) can often be automatically excluded or manually removed.
3. Seller standards are protected
Your Top Rated Seller status and service metrics are typically protected when delays are outside your control.
Here are the ebay pages on these policies
Official eBay Policy Pages
1. eBay Seller Protections (general policy)
This outlines protections when things happen outside your control — including severe weather or carrier delays. eBay Seller Protections policy (includes severe weather)
2. How to appeal a defect or late shipment
Explains how eBay automatically removes defects (including late shipments caused by widespread weather events) and how to request a review. Appeal a defect or late shipment on eBay
Best wishes with your eBay selling.
