Shipping costs too high
In good faith I placed an item up for sale. I am new to ebay selling. When asked Iput in the exact weight of the product. When I went to ship it instead of $10 it was going to be $50 (the weight of the packing, the size of the box, and the place it was going/distance). What do I do now. I contacted the buyer and let them know.

Mentor4 months agoThe Pyrex funnel shows $10 shipping to me in 92802. I changed the zip code to 10010 and it shows $6.26 so you are using calculated shipping. I would suggest purchasing a SCALE so you don't have to make multiple trips to the post office to find out how much a package weighs.

That is a big difference,when you go to purchase the shipping label make sure to check the carrier service that was selected. You have USPS Ground Advantage listed, was that the carrier and service that was on the label page? Did the package information on the label page match what you entered on the listing?
It looks like you are using calculated shipping for your items. With calculated sipping you enter the package details and the carrier into the listing and eBay uses that information to charge the buyer for shipping. It is important that that information is correct so the buyer is charged the right amount.

OP4 months agoThank you. I am using USPS as is on the label. I now know to package it and take it to the post office first so I know the cost. Then there is distance which I did not know.
how do I cancel and repost after having a buyer

Mentor4 months agoYou can cancel as out of stock but you will get a defect on your account and buyer can leave you negative feedback. Not a good way to start out.
