Shipping costs on luxury items
Why does EBay allow sellers to charge shipping and/or excessively high shipping costs on items going to the authenticator since EBay covers those costs and there is no fee for shipping to the buyer.

Mentor9 months ago@vizsladogs The only Authenticity Guarantee items that eBay pays shipping on is for sneakers. The buyer pays 14.95 and the seller gets a free shipping label.
Sellers have to pay for signature on delivery if the item is $750 or and insurance this expenses can be passed on to the buyer as part of the shipping cost OR added to the item price.

OP9 months agoHmm. It doesn’t say there is a shipping cost on handbags.

Mentor9 months ago@vizsladogs That means that the seller has to pay it. They can add the shipping cost to the item price and call it "free shipping" or charge it separately.
If you look through the other authenticity guaranteed items you'll see that Sneakers is the only one that mentions shipping. The buyer still pays $14.95 for US shipments but the seller receives a free Fed Ex label and has no choice but to use Fed Ex.
