Shipping costs compensation
The cost to ship the item was substantially more expensive then what the buyer paid. I seen "compensation up to $100" next to the price while purchasing my shipping label via eBay. Is this compensation automatic? Is this something I needed to request before I purchased the shipping label? Just looking for some insight/ advise. This was my first sale, hopefully I didn't cost myself a lot of money...

Mentor2 years ago@ironheadcliff311 That is postal INSURANCE if your item is lost or damaged in shipping.
You can not ask the buyer for more shipping than stated on the listing so you need to go ahead and ship the item.
I recommend ALWAYS using Buyer pays> calculated shipping when you create a listing. You enter the correct package weight and dimensions on the listing then the buyer is charged the correct shipping price to their location.
